Discover What’s True, Relevant and Different about Your Company

When trying to market your business, you may be asking yourself: Who are my customers, and what are they looking for? The easiest way to figure this out is to ask them!

Michael E. Gerber, author of The E Myth Revisited, writes, “You find out on your questionnaire what colors they prefer, what shapes, what words. You find out the brands of perfume they buy, automobiles, clothes, jewelry, food. You match those brands to the ads and commercials that sell them, and you discover by becoming interested in what messages are being sent to your customers by other companies – who are successfully selling to them – what messages you might send to those customers.”

Gerber goes on to say that this needs to be top priority to business owners who sometimes refer to marketing as “good common sense” when in reality that just means “my opinion.” Get focused and informed, and discover what’s true, relevant, and different about your company.
